Carter & Duck Blacksmiths was set up in 2022 by Bill Carter and Oscar Duck.

The pair work out of their base just outside of Hurst Green in the Ribble Valley forging products using techniques, some of which are hundreds of years old. They create durable items that will last generations. Bill Carter is a well established blacksmith and the pair met at Bill's family forge, Trapp forge. They followed the traditional pattern of master and apprentice.

Having traveled the world learning his craft, Bill has a deep knowledge of forge work. This is something that Oscar has been learning from since 2017.

Also, during that time Oscar has been building a social media presence on Instagram and YouTube, necessary to a modern day business.

Oscar was asked to be a part of ‘Working out of the ordinary’ by Pendle Hill Landscape Partnership aimed to widen the career horizons of young people. It was a pleasure to be a part of and hopefully will attached more people to the craft of blacksmithing!
